    How to Choose Men's Watches

The basic criteria for men's watches

    The style

Although tastes are not discussed, there are still some criteria that should be considered (but not essential) such as the size, thickness, and color of the men's watch.

Think of keeping a balance between the size of the core watch and the wrist. In fact, you have to make sure that the horns (pieces that serve to hold the wrist strap) do not protrude from the wrist. In terms of thickness and color, these are criteria to consider especially if you opt for a dress-type watch. In this case, the thickness of the case must be less than 10 mm and it is suggested to use a light, white, off-white, gray background and a gold or silver case.

    The materials

For the bracelet, we suggest leather or steel (or similar materials like gold, platinum or aluminum) because they offer good resistance and give a more classic look. The casing is often plated or rhodium plated mainly for aesthetic reasons, but sometimes technical. It is important to know because if you need to repair your watch, you must notify the watchmaker that it is patched to prevent damage.

    The mechanism

This may seem more harmless, but know that you will have to choose between two modes of movement when purchasing. You have the mechanical movements, which are the result of the energy supplied by a spring and that quartz which for the majority of the cases, relies on the energy supplied by a battery.

Quartz technology is the most common and is the one that requires the least effort since everything is based on a battery. Conversely, mechanical movements require that the watch is raised, movements are more expensive, but it also means that the wearer of the watch animates the mechanical caliber.
