A Definitive Ranking Of Every Marvel Movie Based On Humor

    "I understood that reference."

When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is a movie for every mood.

Action? Drama? Comedy? They have it all!

In honor of the lighter side of the MCU, we'll be ranking each film based on how comical they are.

    Marvel / Via iruntheinternet.com

Since Peter Quill from Guardians of the Galaxy is full of laughs, we're rating each movie on a scale from zero to five Peter Quills, five being the funniest.

Just to be clear, this is NOT a "best" ranking. This is a "funniest" ranking. Got it? Good...

    17. Captain America: The First Avenger

    Marvel / Via bustle.com

Nazis. Dead friends. Sacrifice. No comedy to see here, people.

    0/5 Peter Quills

    16. The Incredible Hulk

    Marvel / Via propbay.com

It's laughable because we forgot it existed.

    .5/5 Peter Quills

    15. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

    Marvel / Via variety.com

While Winter Soldier is arguably the best film on the list, it does not provide many laughs. The "41st-floor" scene is pretty great, though.

    .5/5 Peter Quills

    14. Iron Man 3

    Marvel / Via rogerebert.com

Sure, there are some funny moments (like that weird Mandarin twist), but they're all overshadowed by Tony's PTSD.

    1/5 Peter Quills

    13. Doctor Strange

    Marvel / Via rollingstone.com

The funniest character in this movie is a cape.

    1/5 Peter Quills

    12. Thor: The Dark World

    Marvel / Via youtube.com

Overall, this movie is a bit of a dud. However, Kat Dennings and naked Stellan Skarsgård do earn it some comedy points. Bonus: Thor rides the tube.

    1.5/5 Peter Quills

    11. Iron Man 2

    Marvel / Via nerdbastards.com

Sam Rockwell can make anything funny.

    2/5 Peter Quills

    10. Thor

    Marvel / Via filmschoolrejects.com

This movie doesn't get enough credit for how silly it is. A literal god/beefcake drops from the sky, lands on some scientists, and learns a lesson in humility. Come on.

    2.5/5 Peter Quills

    9. Avengers: Age of Ultron

    Marvel / Via gramunion.com

Things get gloomy quick, but the party scene provides some big laughs. Bonus: James Spader's dry wit almost makes Ultron likable.

    3/5 Peter Quills

    8. Captain America: Civil War

    Marvel / Via etonline.com

Watching your favorite onscreen friends fight is super rough, but the intro to Tom Holland's Spider-Man is spectacular. Also, every line out of Paul Rudd's mouth will get a laugh. Bonus: Falcon and Bucky. They both want to be Cap's #1 BFF so badly!

    3.5/5 Peter Quills

    7. The Avengers

    Marvel / Via theathleticnerd.com

Seeing these characters interact for the first time onscreen is pretty priceless, and it's less sad now that we know Coulson is alive. Bonus: the shawarma.

    3.5/5 Peter Quills

    6. Iron Man

    Marvel / Via rogerebert.com

Iron Man set the tone for Marvel comedically, and we are forever grateful. In retrospect, a lot of dark stuff happens, but the MCU wouldn't be nearly as fun without this setup.

    4/5 Peter Quills

    5. Ant-Man

    Marvel / Via comicbook.com

This movie would be beyond forgettable if not for the comedic stylings of Paul Rudd and Michael Peña.

    4/5 Peter Quills

    4. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

    Marvel / Via craveonline.com

Hilarious from start to finish, but we're still raw about Yondu.

    4.5/5 Peter Quills

    3. Spider-Man: Homecoming

    Marvel / Via dailysuperheroes.com

The MCU made Spider-Man funny again and we're HERE FOR IT. Shoutout to Ned for being a hilarious "guy in the chair."

    4.5/5 Peter Quills

    2. Guardians of the Galaxy

    Marvel / Via youtube.com

We didn't know how funny a Marvel movie could be could be until Guardians. It set the bar pretty damn high.

    5/5 Peter Quills

    1. Thor: Ragnarok

    Marvel / Via video.disney.com

Sorry, Peter, but the new Thor claims the top comedy spot. No one expected a Marvel movie to be the funniest film of the year, but here we are... From Loki's play to Thor & Hulk's bromance, it'll be hard to beat.

    5/5 Peter Quills
