A Michigan Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate said the government needs to be the “servant — not the master” and that she is ready to “whip things into shape” in a fundraising email sent Wednesday.
“We need to make reforms to make government the servant — not the master. I’m ready to go there and whip things into shape — will you help me get there?” the email from candidate Terri Lynn Land reads, with a link to her campaign donations page.
Land, a former Michigan secretary of state and a national committeewoman for the Republican National Committee, is running for the seat held by Sen. Carl Levin (D), who will retire at the end of his term next year.
The fundraising email is critical of the Affordable Care Act, and asks for donations to help her become the “51st vote to end Obamacare in 2014.” Last month, Land flipped her position on Obamacare in a single day, first saying she thought it should be fixed, then saying she supported its repeal.
