In a 2001 C-SPAN interview, when asked about books that are important to him, Weiner answered Bonfire of the Vanities, which features Lawrence Kramer, an egotistical lawyer who fantasizes about cheating on his wife and is ultimately removed from his big case for an inappropriate relationship with his boss. "This might get me in some trouble," Weiner said before launching into his answer.
