We can all agree that makeup is one of the greatest things mankind has given us.
For some of us, it's a way of making you feel more confident in your own skin.
And for others, it's a way of showing off your skills, because let's be honest; the ability to apply makeup is totally badass.
If you love makeup, you spend hours scouring the internet for new makeup tutorials.
Makeup transformations never cease to amaze you, and these beauty gurus become your idols.
However, when you try to replicate what you see in the videos, it more often than not turns out looking more like this:
But that doesn't stop you from trying anyway.
Liquid eyeliner creates the sharpest wings, but you have to be a wizard to get it ~just right~.
And liquid lipstick can be just as tricky.
When you DO make a mistake, what you think will be a quick fix turns into an all-out war with your face.
If you wear glitter eyeshadow, you have to deal with the glitter circles that accumulate underneath your eyes.
And trying to find the right shade of foundation to match your skin tone is near IMPOSSIBLE.
Trying to apply lipstick in a moving vehicle is a dangerous game.
And if you plan on going out and drinking, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD make sure you put on your makeup before you start pregaming, because doing makeup drunk just ends in a disaster.
And we all know that it doesn't matter how fierce your makeup looks in person if it can't be captured on camera.
Under no circumstances is it okay to cry when you are wearing makeup.
And any kind of precipitation or humidity is your worst enemy.
But any makeup aficionado is always prepared for water damage.
Sometimes you forget you're wearing makeup, and you make the mistake of rubbing your eyes.
And you're paranoid that if you eat anything while wearing lipstick, you'll end up looking like this:
If you normally wear makeup on a day-to-day basis and you go without it just one day, everyone immediately assumes you're either sick or overtired.
And on the flip side, there are those who think they are ~complimenting~ your makeup, when really it's an offhand insult.
You're always hesitant to let anyone else do your makeup; you know what looks good on you, and the only judgement you truly trust is your own.
But you're ALWAYS willing to play makeup artist for friends and family.
You often hear "Shouldn't you stop buying so much makeup?", to which your response is always:
Unfortunately, makeup isn't cheap. Which means you often sacrifice necessities such as food and toilet paper in order to buy it.
Walking by Sephora without going in is damn near impossible.
But whenever there's a discount sale on your favourite brand, it feels like Christmas.
But we all know the best feeling is when you completely nail your makeup and just stare at your reflection in the mirror telling yourself you are an invincible queen.
