But Canuck might be getting a little too friendly. This week, the crow snatched evidence from a crime scene in Vancouver before cops shooed it away.

Watched this crow pick up knife allegedly used by man shot by #VPD today. Cops chased him before dropped knife.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, officers were told about a car fire in a McDonald's parking lot. When they arrived, "they were confronted by a man armed with a knife," police said in a news release.

"The man allegedly came at the officers and shots were fired. He was taken into custody and transported to hospital for gunshot and stab wounds."

"Yes, the bird did pick up the knife at a crime scene on Tuesday and began to fly away before dropping it," Constable Brian Montague confirmed to BuzzFeed Canada.

This photo shows Canuck with a different knife in its beak, from the Canuck And I page on Facebook, which has more than 12,000 fans.

The page was set up by Shawn Bergman, who has a special bond with Canuck going back years.

"I'm not thrilled that my buddy was tampering with a crime scene but what do you do, he's a wild crow," Bergman told BuzzFeed Canada.

It's not the first time Vancouver police have dealt with Canuck. Last week the crow tried to make off with the F6 key from the computer in a police car.

At least Canuck stuck around to help with the clean-up.

A crow appears to be helping VPD take down the police tape on Hastings.
