This Man In A Bathrobe Is Wondering Why There’s A Woman In His Men-Only Club

Wherefore art thou, Bathrobe Guy?

The Canadian federal election took another weird turn Wednesday when a private Toronto men's club became the scene of controversy and intrigue.

The exclusive Cambridge Club was set to host Finance Minister Joe Oliver for a talk before he abruptly cancelled the speech when people took issue with the club's men-only membership policy.

The whole thing didn't sit well with Liberal candidate Chrystia Freeland, who is also her party's trade critic.

She headed down to the Cambridge Club to ask them why it was appropriate to have the country's finance minister privately brief a group of "Bay Street Boys," as the club's website describes its membership. The club is also located in Freeland's University-Rosedale riding, which she has represented in Parliament since 2013.

Before long, people started wondering about him.

Bathrobe Guy poses many question, the most significant being, "Who wears running shoes with a bathrobe?" What's going on there?

And reporters wanted to chase him down to ask about...the bathrobe, probably.
