Here's What's Coming To Netflix Australia In November

It's basically Christmas, which means holiday movies!

As much as it pains me to say that spooky season is nearly over, it does mean that Christmas is right around the corner.

And with that, we're into a new month of movies, TV shows and docos that have landed on Netflix. Let's get into it!

Netflix Is a Joke / Via

First off, let's talk about the much-anticipated fourth season of The Crown, which is set to be released on November 15. We'll see Elizabeth clash with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who is played by the iconic Gillian Anderson, as well as Prince Charles' wedding to Diana.

Love me some royal tea, so I'm very keen for this.

Not into period dramas? Well, you'll have to check out Paranormal (November 5), Country Ever After (November 6) and The Minions Of Midas (November 13).

Paranormal is one for the supernatural fans. It follows a skeptical hematologist who is forced to investigate ~mysterious~ events when a ghost from his past comes back to haunt him.

On a completely different vibe is Country Ever After, which stars singer Coffey Anderson and his hip-hop dancer wife Criscilla as they navigate their country vs. city perspectives of life and parenting.

Next up is The Minions Of Midas, which revolves around a millionaire publisher who is just about to be implicated in a story by a reporter. But, just before this happens, he receives a blackmail note that forces him to make a life or death decision.

Plus, there'll also be a bunch of nostalgic faves making their way to Netflix, like Dawson's Creek (November 1) and Seasons 1-10 of How I Met Your Mother (November 25).

The WB / Sony Pictures, CBS

As someone that's never watched Dawson's Creek or been able to engage in the whole Pacey vs. someone else debate, perhaps now is the time to start.

Oh, and let's not forget about the premiere of Shawn Mendes' documentary, In Wonder (November 23).

With all the bops Shawn has released, it's easy to forget that he's only 22 years old. Yes, literally — this man is younger and more successful than me. Anyway, this doco goes behind the scenes of Shawn's latest world tour — which included over 100 shows — and explores his career, insecurities and relationship with Camila Cabello.

If you're wanting to get into the festive spirit a little early, there'll be a bunch of Xmas-related flicks for you to dive into — like Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (November 13),The Princess Switch: Switched Again (November 19) and Dolly Parton's Christmas On The Square (November 22).

Riverdale has ruined the phrase "jingle jangle" for me (if you know, you know), but this movie sounds extremely cute. Set in the vibrant town of Cobbleton, it follows a toymaker called Jeronicus Jangle whose most prized creation gets stolen by his apprentice. It's then up to his granddaughter and a long-forgotten invention to save the day. Plus, if you're a fan of musicals, you're in luck because there'll be original songs by John Legend, Philip Lawrence and Davy Nathan.

Meanwhile, Switched Again is the highly anticipated sequel to The Princess Switch, which is a Christmas rom-com featuring Vanessa Hudgens in the dual role of Stacy De Novo and Lady Margaret. This one promises more of the same wholesome fun, which honestly is exactly what I need right now.

And lastly, Dolly Parton's Christmas On The Square is another holiday-themed musical featuring 14 original songs. According to the synopsis, a cold-hearted woman (the iconic Christine Baranski) tries to sell her hometown's land, regardless of how it'll impact the people living there.

Or, if you want to keep those spooky vibes, press play on Carmel: Who Killed Maria Marta? and The Call (November 27).

If you're a fan of true crime docos, you'll definitely be interested in Carmel: Who Killed Maria Marta?. It follows the discovery of a woman found dead in her bathtub — her husband theorises that it was an accident, but the autopsy reveals a different story.

On the other hand, The Call is about a woman who returns to her former home and finds an old phone that allows her to speak with someone living in the same house 20 years ago.

Plus, there's a number of Indigenous movies, like Toomelah (November 7), Sweet Country (November 7) and Goldstone (November 8), that are most definitely worth watching.

Visit Films, Bunya Productions, Transmission Films

These movies aren't just fantastic to watch, they'll also help you better understand Australia's history and the issues that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders continue to face.

Toomelah illustrates the bleak reality of living in a disadvantaged community through 10-year-old Daniel, who decides to join a gang of drug dealers after being suspended from school.

Set in 1929, Sweet Country delves into the extreme racism that existed between European settlers and Indigenous Australians through the story of an Aboriginal stockman who kills a white station owner in self-defence.

Lastly, Goldstone is a crime thriller that serves as the sequel to Mystery Road — so make sure to watch that one first if you can. It follows detective Jay Swan investigating a missing persons inquiry in the town of Goldstone that quickly unravels into a web of crime and corruption.

That's all for now, folks! See ya next month!
