Bindi Irwin Has Shared A Heartbreakingly Sweet Message To Her Late Father Steve On His Birthday

"Today I’ll watch The Crocodile Hunter with Grace Warrior and share stories about her incredible Grandpa Crocodile."

Although it's been 16 years since Steve Irwin's death, his legacy and impact on wildlife conservation is still being recognised by both the world and his family.

Today, on what would have been the Crocodile Hunter's 59th birthday, his daughter, Bindi Irwin, shared a heartfelt message to her socials that paid tribute to her beloved father.

"Happy birthday to the greatest dad and Wildlife Warrior," Bindi wrote.

"Today I'll watch The Crocodile Hunter with Grace Warrior [Bindi's daughter] and share stories about her incredible Grandpa Crocodile."

"I love you with all my heart. Your legacy lives on."

I'm going to need a hot second because this beautiful message and reminder of Steve Irwin has me low-key sobbing at my desk.

Bindi has previously spoken about her daughter's connection to The Crocodile Hunter, noting that her name — Grace Warrior Irwin Powell — is both a tribute to her great-grandmother and late father.

On the 15th anniversary of Steve's death last year, Bindi also shared that Grace "lights up seeing her 'Grandpa Crocodile' on-screen."

She also believes that her father is now Grace's guardian angel, "watching over the most special part of my life."

Bindi's birthday tribute struck an emotional chord with her followers, who shared their own birthday wishes and love for The Crocodile Hunter in the comments.

Happy birthday to Steve Irwin! You may be gone, but your impact and love for animals will never be forgotten. 💛
