Aussie Athletes Are Sharing What Life Is Really Like In The Beijing Olympic Village On TikTok And It's So Insightful

The strong urge to get extremely good at a sport and compete at the Olympics just so I can get all the freebies.

Like at the Tokyo Olympics, athletes from all around the world have been using their social media accounts to share what it's really like behind the scenes at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Representing Team Australia, Scotty James (snowboarder), Kailani Craine (figure skater) and Valentino Guseli (snowboarder) have all been active on their socials, talking about everything from their uniforms, to what's in their Olympic kits and what the entire experience is like.

Here's everything I learned about what it's like to compete at the Beijing Winter Olympics from their videos.

1. On arriving to the Beijing Winter Olympics:

2. On the uniforms they’re provided with from the Australian Olympic Committee, which includes a special Opening Ceremony outfit, PJs, daily clothes and even some cute shoes that have the Olympic Logo embossed on them:

3. And here's another look at the Australian team's uniforms from Scotty:

4. On Team Australia's Olympic kit, which includes all their gear, as well as some cute Aussie-themed merch like a boxing kangaroo:

5. On the experience of attending the Opening Ceremony:

9. On what you're most likely to find in every Aussie Olympian's room, including copious amounts of green and gold-coloured gear:

Shoutout to these Aussie legends for documenting their Olympic journey! And a special congratulations to Scotty, who won a silver medal in the men's halfpipe, Valentino, who made the final of the men's halfpipe, and Kailani, who gave an amazing performance in the women's figure skating.

You've done Australia proud! And, of course, congrats to all the other incredible athletes competing at the Games.
