What Do You Wish You Would Have Known Before Moving Out For The First Time?

Moving out and becoming your ~own person~ (read: Doing all the cooking, cleaning and paying all the bills) is an important and exciting rite of passage for any young adult.

But it can also be a super daunting experience, especially when it's your first time and you have no idea what you're doing.

So for those of us that are still living at our parents' home (hi, that's me!), what piece of advice would you give to help us make the big move?

I've heard that it's important to suss out the water pressure, especially in the shower.

Perhaps you have some handy packing tips that will help get all our clutter from point A to point B.


Just the thought of moving all the stuff in my room to a whole other place makes me want to take a nap.

Or some budgeting hacks that you want to pass down, so we don't blow all our money in the first month.


Like, I have a rough idea of how to budget, but then I've never really had to factor in huge costs like groceries, electricity bills and rent.

You might even have some helpful advice on breaking the news to our overprotective parents, who give us dirty looks every time the forbidden phrase is mentioned.
