Whether hair scrunchies or chains, today's popular teen fashion can vary from person to person, and we're really digging it, but it's a lot to take in. Whether your looking for a new style or how to improve your outfits with the trends, I'm about to give you the whole rundown of today's Pinterest-inspired fashion.
While we know this style doesn't have a formal name, it's basically the epitome of the modern "city girl", and it's my personal favorite style. She's the definition of being a teen and doing whatever the hell she wants. Popular brands of this aesthetic are Brandy Melville, Urban Outfitters, or doing some online shopping on the trendy app Depop and hitting up their local thrift shop and going thrifting. This look is a more advanced basic girl. Her outfits are usually displayed on the Brandy Melville homepage and Instagram, and a dream girl's Pinterest. Most of the time, she wears baggy clothes like oversized hoodies, sweatpants, carpenter pants, and mom jeans, and she often pairs them with a cute tank, layered sweaters, or button ups, a bucket hat, headband, or bandana, small chains, and Doc Martens, or Nike Air Jordans and Nike Airforces.
This look has evolved from the "e-girl" or "e-boy" trend on the popular social media app TikTok. They're known for dying the front parts of their hair in bright colors, wearing lots of chains, and skating..maybe. This look also has a lot of oversized shirts and pants. Most of their clothes come from thrifting. They wear a lot of Dickies and colorful clothes from Tyler, the Creator's brand, Golf Wang, and of course, topping it off, Converse, and customized AF1's, or also Golf Le Fleurs from Tyler, the Creator's brand.
The 90s-2000s called, they want their outfits back. The y2k look is very colorful, with lots of prints, colors, and materials. Baby tees, cheetah print, pink, rectangle glasses, colorful hair clips, shoulder bags, cropped cardigans, rhinestones, ugh, so fetch! So like where do we find clothes like this? Depop and thrifting is the move! Not only is it cheap, but you'll find something no one else has that's like, hella cute. 90's styles are coming back, and honestly, we're living for it. If you want to spice up your style, add some new prints and colors to your wardrobe, this is definitely the aesthetic for you.
