18 Undeniable Things Filipinos Do During Christmas Season

Make sabit our medyas and hope to wake up and find it full of cash.

    1. Start counting down to Christmas waaaaay too early. Like, in September.

    2. And naturally decorate homes with parol at the start of the –Ber months.

    3. Like, just slather the entire house with every Christmas decoration imaginable.

    4. But spending money on actual musical instruments for carolling? Nah, bro. Flattened bottle caps should be enough.

    5. Put up a belen even if it means you have to DIY it.

    6. Dress up and wear your newest clothes on actual Christmas day as if you're on a mission.

    7. And that is to hunt down godparents for ~aguinaldo~ which isn't always fruitful.

    8. But on very rare ocassions, your 100+ ninongs and ninangs COME 👏 THROUGH 👏

    9. And, if you're really lucky, the aguinaldo you receive is ~malutong.~

    10. Companies start giving away noche buena packages.

Probably to compensate for your late 13th month pay.

    11. Wake up at the break of dawn for nine straight days to attend simbang gabi.

    12. Which is—let's be honest—10% to actually hear mass, and 90% to dress up and meet with friends.

    13. Stuff our faces with puto bumbong and bibingka which we waited a whole year for.

    14. Watch the town's Panunuluyan on Christmas eve.

    15. And of course, eat to our heart's content during noche buena.

    16. Make sabit our medyas and hope to wake up and find it full of cash.

Anyare?? Nakatulog ako pagsapit ng Pasko, paggising ko wala pa rin laman medyas na sinabit ko. -.- Baka naman (--,)

Which rarely happens. Especially if you're 22.

    17. Open gifts and hope it's not a mug, or a picture frame.

    18. And finally, organize family reunions which is such a pain to do because you have like a thousand relatives.
