4. But then—PLOT TWIST—wild homophobes appear and you want to pull out your hair at their comments.

5. It warmed your heart when Anthony Bourdain visited the Philippines and gave OFWs the love and recognition they deserve.

6. But you were so disappointed when Pinoys in the States let us down during the US elections.

7. Your jaw dropped when Maxine Medina walked the Miss Universe stage and freaking OWNED it.

8. But you wanted to throw your phone when you opened Facebook and saw the haters doing their thing.

9. You were appalled by how female protesters were abused online, but also happy to know they had people backing them up.

10. And you thanked the high heavens for the senators who were looking out for women!

11. But just when you thought everything was going well, the approval of the death penalty shocked you.

12. You felt literally #BLESSED when Pope Francis visited the Philippines and gave us the gift of his poncho and cute smiles.

13. But you couldn't help but shake your damn head at the trashy aftermath.

14. You felt secure when the president spoke strongly about the value of democracy in the country.
