There has been more coverage than in the beginning of the week, yes. But if you compare the amount of coverage of Gonsell to say, Aurora or Newtown, or even the Michael Vick dog-fighting scandal, it barely registers. There are certainly a number of reasons for that: the dog-fighting scandal involved a celebrity, the shootings were spontaneous, unforseen events. Still, the desparity of coverage smacks of something else: many at the major networks (cable and broadcast) refuse to do almost any story that puts abortion, or abortion providers in a negative light. What I’m about to say is not an argument for what I’ve already said, but this, to me, seems patently obvious.
