1. A meal prep station so they can feel like they're finally embracing their inner Julia Child with the most perfect mise en place in all the neighborhood. Bon appétit!

Get ready for the list of what's included: You get five large, two medium, two small, and six mini containers with measurement markings in ounces, cups, and milliliters. You also get a removable 13" trash bin *and* utensil storage. For the tools you get a grater, zester, juicer, slicer, garlic grater, vegetable peeler, julienne, green stripper, and bottle opener. Whew!

Promising review: "I LOVE this! I am a professional chef and am usually very skeptical of 'home chef' products, I got this as a gift and I am OBSESSED. The containers are perfect sizes and everything cleans so easily, it’s also super easy to transport if you need to cook somewhere else. I’ve seen a couple of reviews that the cutting board doesn’t stay flat — just bend it backward at the fold and it will stay flat! 10/10 I love this!" —Stephanie LaSpina

Shipping info: Available on Amazon Prime with two-day shipping, non-Prime shipping options will still arrive by Christmas (see Amazon's full shipping information here).

2. An AeroGarden, an indoor herb garden where they can grow all of their favorites like basil (my personal fave), mint, oregano, chives — they can even grow tomatoes or lettuce! The possibilities are ~endless~!

The indoor herb garden with a variety of overgrown herbs on it
AeroGarden

With this fancy garden, you can grow your herbs up to six times faster than soil! It has a 20-W LED grow light, simple illuminated buttons for lights and cares, automatic reminders for water and plant food, *and* enough space for your herbs to grow up to 12'' tall! That's a lot of basil!

Promising review: "Got this a couple of weeks ago. I've wanted one FOREVER and was so happy, but didn't let my hopes get the best of me — I can't keep plants alive. At all. Ever. Easy setup with easy instructions and it was done and working its magic in 10 minutes. So imagine my excitement when just a few days later I had a sprout! Then another. Then another! While I thoroughly believe my morning affirmations to the little sprouts work, it's probably the awesome design and ease of use. It tells you when it needs water or nutrients (liquid, in a bottle). It's silent, except for a barely audible trickle sound every hour. You will not regret this purchase!" —Amy V.

Shipping info: Only economy shipping is offered, which is 5–10 business days.

Get it from AeroGarden for $99.95 (originally $149.95, available in two colors and four seed kits).

3. A rice cooker that is essentially the holy grail of rice cookers. Gone will be the days of them wasting time making rice on the stove when they'll be making perfect rice *every time*.

Reviewer photo of the rice cooker with rice inside
amazon.com

This Zojirushi rice cooker can make three cups of rice at a time. You can use it to make porridge, white rice, sweet and brown rice, and more.

Promising review: "Honestly, I was going to write a review asking if you wanted perfect rice on your schedule — but I quickly realized that review would not do this product justice. The five batches of rice I have made with this (jasmine, sticky, and basmati) have turned out better than you'd expect in restaurants in the US. Don't let the price dissuade you, this is one product you won't be sorry you purchased. In fact, there are several models above this that are probably even better but this is good enough for me. I did not receive this product at any sort of discount. Three steps to good rice: Buy a rice cleaner, buy a storage container for your rice, and buy this cooker." —Jeff O.

Shipping info: Available on Amazon Prime with two-day shipping, non-Prime shipping options will still arrive by Christmas (see Amazon's full shipping information here).

amazon.com, amazon.com

This nifty fellow has a three-part blending system, made of the blender's vortex-creating ribbed jar design, asymmetric blade, and the ~Intelli-Speed Motor Control~, which automatically senses contents and maintains the optimal speed for a better blend.

Promising review: "Does a wonderful job. I didn't realize that the smoothies I was making with my old blender weren't really 'smooth' until I made one with my new blender. And no more battles with my husband over who has to clean it because I couldn't always get the blade portion off the old one. This is a dream!" —Marilyn

Promising review: "When I first caught wind of the Bartesian premium cocktail machine ($349.99 on Amazon), my first thought was does anyone actually need this gadget? But after trying it for myself, I can say the answer is a firm YES, and here's why. I love making cocktails at home, and while I'm no bartender, I feel very comfortable shaking a spicy margarita, stirring a negroni, or whipping up a Pisco sour. But making craft cocktails at home requires many (often expensive) ingredients, bar tools, time and effort. With the Bartesian though, you can make fancy drinks with the click of a button — literally. Once you turn the Bartesian on, it prompts you to insert a cocktail capsule. The smart gadget recognizes the cocktail you're trying to make and will ensure you've placed the proper spirit in the bottle (I know, it's mind-blowing). Next, it prompts you to choose your cocktail strength (there's even a mocktail option), and to place a glass with ice underneath the spout. Next, the Bartesian will start pouring your craft cocktail. The whole process takes about 20 seconds and it's all very exciting. With many bars closed and people quarantining or feeling hesitant about going out to eat, this gadget allows you to make professional-quality cocktails at home." —Hannah Loewentheil, BuzzFeed Editor

6. A dinnerware set so all of their Instagram photos of their recipes can look *so* profesh plated on these stunning plates.

The dinnerware set including cups, bowls, and plates in a stone blue color
Corelle

Promising review: "We grew up with Corelleware in our home, and it is the first set of dishes we got when we moved out on our own. The brand is one that we are familiar with and love the quality of. The new 16-piece stoneware set does not disappoint. The high sides on the plates almost make them into a shallow bowl but can definitely help to reduce spills (bonus with kids using them!) and the cups have a great silicone ring around them that makes them easier to hold and warm up with. An added bonus is the silicone top that each cup has as well - helps prevent losing your coffee or not getting it to it in time making sure you get more time with that morning coffee. The bowls have more of the stoneware look and compliment the plates and the cups great. We can see this is a set that we will have for years to come." —Becky

This one beat my old toaster by mile in terms of how fast it toasts, and it adjusts easily and well to waffles and bagels. The toaster has a fantastic digital display, too. I love the 10 second countdown feature so I can get my butter in place and slather it on while the toast is hot. The design is sleek and elegant, and my favorite surprise is the analog clock display. amazon.com

It has SEVEN toasting options!

Promising review: "Is it possible...can a toaster be...this sexy? Yes. Absolutely yes. This sexy toaster fit right in to my farmhouse style kitchen with it's cool mint-green color and retro vibes. I have made toast with it and a toasted sandwich with cream cheese and thin-sliced turkey — it was delicious! This toaster pops so quiet I missed it, twice!!! My toast was cold, but then I noticed this amazing thing also has a REHEAT button!!! So no worries if you miss that pop sound. It has four slots and they are the wide and long type meaning those fancier breads fit without squishing the sides of your slice. Promising review: "WHY WOULD NO ONE TELL ME THE MAGIC OF SLOW COOKERS RIGHT WHEN THEY BECAME A THING!? Seriously this thing is a busy person's savior or in my case, a lazy person's dream! This one is plenty large enough and incredibly easy to use. I mean really look at the buttons on this thing, if you can't figure that out, you have other things to sort out rather than look at slow cookers. Reviews say this one runs a bit hotter than most, but I've followed a handful of recipes and their cook times seem to be accurate. I really love that this model will automatically switch to keep warm after the timer you set expires. That last part is crucial for me because I work 10+ hour shifts and most recipes even on low are about eight hours. That 'keep warm' feature makes sure my food isn't burnt, but still warm when I get home." —Peter Q.
