Lisa Haydon Spoke Out On Feminism And Pretty Much Everyone Wishes She Hadn't

"One day I look forward to making dinner for my husband and children. I don't want to be a career feminist."

In a recent interview with the Times Of India, actress and model Lisa Haydon expressed her thoughts on feminism, and they didn't sit well with a lot of people.

"I don't like the word feminist. I don't think women trying to be men is feminism. I also don't believe in being outspoken for the sake of it, or just to prove a point. Feminism is just an overused term and people make too much noise about it for no reason. Women have been given these bodies to produce children, and the spirit and tenderness to take care of people around us. It's fine to be an outspoken and working woman. I don't want to be a man. One day I look forward to making dinner for my husband and children. I don't want to be a career feminist," Haydon told TOI.

Photos of the print version of the interview began making rounds on Twitter, with critical commentary.

Most people, many of whom are Haydon's fans, seem to be disappointed in her for not understanding feminism.

But, of course, there was also a lot of defensive support for her too.

As for Haydon, she seems totally unfazed by the comments and hasn't responded to the critique.
