Here at ISU, we care about our students' health and wellness. There are a number of resources on campus for students to take advantage of in order to strengthen their total health. Read on to see all ISU has to offer its students, #FutureRedbird!

ISU Counseling Services

Student Counseling Services is available to ISU students free of charge. If you would like to schedule an appointment with a licensed counselor contact: (309) 438-3655 or stop by room 320 of the Student Services Building. There are also psychiatric consultations available to students who wish to discuss issues related to medication. To reach Psychiatric Services at ISU contact: (309) 438-7676 or you can request a referral from a counselor.

Counseling Services: Student of Color Group


Minority students have experiences that are unique to them. This service allows for a supportive and safe environment where minority students can express themselves and discuss problems they are facing. If you feel this group is appropriate for you, schedule an initial appointment with a counselor. During that appointment you and your counselor can discuss whether this group is the right fit for you.

Counseling Services: Body Project


This program caters to women on ISU's campus. The goal of this program is to promote a positive body image among females. The Body Project program can be completed in two sessions that are each two hours in length, or four one-hour sessions. Once the program is completed the participant will receive a Certificate of Participation. There are also training sessions for those interested in becoming facilitators of the Body Project for their RSO's.

Campus Recreation: Fitness


ISU's Campus Rec Center offers a variety of activities for students to engage in. Fitness classes are offered by the hour to students free of charge. These classes are student-led and are open to all. If you are looking for a one-on-one experience you can also request a personal trainer. There is an initial physical assessment charge of $20. Prices for a personal trainer vary depending on which package you choose. Group workout classes are offered as well and can be customized to your liking.

Campus Recreation: Intramural Sports


Intramural Sports allow for students and faculty to participate in recreational sporting events individually or on teams. There are a variety of events offered. These events can be short term or run on weekly schedules. The choice is yours! In order to participate in an intramural sport here at ISU you must register yourself. Upon registration, a small fee must be submitted. Please contact (309) 438-3107 if you have any questions about registration.

Health Services


Doctors' offices are located on the second floor of the Student Services Building available to both students and faculty. Check ups, physicals and vaccines, along with other services, are provided. Appointments as well as walk-ins are accepted. Appointments can be made online, over the phone, or in person. An $11 fee will be processed at the time of your appointment, which can be payed using card, cash, check or the fee can also be charged to your student account via a bill.

Spiritual Helath


ISU has a number of spiritually-based RSO's on campus. These include but are not limited to Impact Student Ministries, CRU Student Ministries, and Encounter. The organizations at ISU are open to both students and staff free of charge. Meeting times vary by organization. If you are interested in joining a religious RSO feel free to take a look at this list and find what works best for you!
