While he stopped short of endorsing Trump, outgoing UKIP leader Farage said he "wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton if you paid me."

This UKIP supporter went viral yesterday after he turned up at the party's conference in Bournemouth wearing a Trump T-shirt.

"I bought it for 15 quid and thought if I wear it to the conference it would be funny," he said.

Dalton said that he was drawn to UKIP while studying history.

"It’s the same bad decisions, made by the same weak leaders who are slowly leading to the decline of our country," he said. "People are waking up to it as we saw at Brexit we’ve had a look at it and said t'hat’s bad we want to look at it and change'."

Dalton wasn't the only Trump-inspired presence at conference, as "Make Britain great again" hats were also on sale to delegates.

Farage's replacement as party leader, Diane James, does not share her predecessor's enthusiasm for Trump, however, saying the "jury is out" on the Republican candidate.
