Not a teacher here, but a student. My junior year of high school, I got bored and made one of those origami stars out of a thin strip of paper. At the end of class, I slipped it onto my teacher’s desk without her seeing. From that day on, I always left her either an origami star or a crane on her desk, or podium, whichever I could get to without her noticing. A few weeks before the last day of school, I decided how I was going to tell her it was me. I told everyone in my class what I had been doing, and passed around thin sheets of colored paper to everyone in the class. I told them to write a nice note to her and give it back to me, and I folded them all into stars. I also made other stars that she wouldn’t have to unfold out of paper with cute designs on them, just for decoration. Finally, I folded a giant crane, which I had everyone sign their name on. I put all of the stars into a cute little Chinese food style metal box that was clear so she could see all of them, and brought everything to the last day of school. I presented it all to her on the last day during class, and her reaction to realizing what was happening was priceless.
