I've been in a lot of department stores (not quirky boutiques, just bog-standard places) this past couple weeks, and everything is ruffles. Ruffles on hemlines, ruffles on sleeves, ruffles on bodices. I wish it was time to say goodbye to ruffles but it clearly is not.

As an American apartment dweller, the washing machine (if you're lucky enough to have one) is often in or near the kitchen, for the exact same reason. It's near the water hookup and there's usually no room for it anywhere else.

In re: the "Groundhog Day couldn't be made today" comment: Interestingly, Groundhog Day the stage musical (from 2016) does a pretty great job with giving Phil a believable arc of learning to be a better person despite starting out as an unlikeable jerk.
