Weird Jello - The Wonderful World Of Horrible Party Jelly

Classic Lemon Jelly - with added radish.

Lemon is a classic flavour for Jello, but It can get boring. Jazz it up with French radishes and a spring onion garnish. Yum Yum.

Pineapple Roll

Pineapple and lime jelly is another classic combo. This does look lovely but is almost impossible to make. I would add a carrot or sausage down it's centre for extra appeal.

Fish Jelly with olive eyes

Get a tin of salmon or tuna. Mash it up into pink jelly, how's about strawberry flavour? And then mould into a fish shape. Add olives or peanuts for authentic eyes. Voilà!

Egg Jelly

Perfect for breakfast brunch. Again we advise using a citric jelly with a dash of vinegar. Pickled eggs can be used as well as boiled.

Hey! Grass Jelly

This jelly can be difficult to obtain due to its popularity. It is possible to make your own but be sure to use freshly cut grass taken from a garden without pets. Garnish with freshly cut grass fronds and daisy flowers. Great for alfresco parties.

Everybody in the UK eats Jellied Eels for breakfast. So though not a typical party food there will be no guests turning it down - it's that good! Don't bother making it at home unless you like skinning live eels.

Cool Cucumber Salad

Everyone loves a salad but why not make a cucumber jelly instead? It looks better than a bag of salad tossed into a bowl and might taste better too. You can also make this with celery, lettuce, cabbage and swede.

Finally we save the best till last - Insect Jelly. Hard to get but well worth tracking down. There are far too many insects in the world - we really need to eat some of them before they take over. Once a silk work has knitted one silken handkerchief it becomes redundant. These former workers are then retired into a tasty snack. Sure to be a talking point at any function. Alternatives include 'snails in aspic' and 'wasp fear'.
