1. Chilli nachos at The Scaramouche.

This fairly new pub by Kelvingrove park has a great beer and cider selection, and a hearty menu that includes these spicy nachos with freshly made guacamole.

2. Spaghetti bolognese with vegan chorizo, Mono.

Mono is an airy vegan pub not far from the 13th Note who serve great home brewed beer; their vegan pizzas are also well worth your time.

3. A spicy chicken, rocket, and mango mayo ciabatta at Lucky 7 Canteen.

Lucky 7 is an interesting pub-cafe hybrid with a range of draught and bottled beers. Their great value lunch mains are £5 and dinner mains start at £7.77.

4. Tacos at The Squid and Whale

Don't worry: There's no whale in these tacos, but diners do have a choice of seven fillings including achiote pulled pork and beer battered haddock.

5. Mediterranean platter with halloumi at 13th Note.

Vegetarian pub and independent music venue 13th Note is a great place to grab a meat-free lunch. The Lebanese potato harra (top left) is particularly good.

No nonsense Scottish chain bar BrewDog don't pull any punches with this fantastic boozy stew cooked with their 5.6% Punk IPA.

10. A vegan BBQ seitan wrap at The 78.

This vegan bar near Kelvingrove offers up lush, indulgent pub grub that will satisfy even the most veggie-phobic carnivore. Their vegan desserts are great too.

11. The Whale Burger at Lebowski's.

This Big Lebowski themed bar in the West End is famous for its White Russians, but the food is great too. They also have a lunch for a fiver deal.

12. A smoked chicken salad at Dram.

This whisky bar on Woodlands Road has over 70 varieties of single malt available, as well as a good value and tasty range of wraps, soups and salads.

13. Fish, chips and mushy peas at The Finnieston.

The Finnieston specialises in seafood and gin, so if you've been craving cod washed down with a Bombay Sapphire cocktail you should head there right now.

14. Currywurst at West Brewery.

West Brewery on Glasgow Green is a German style brewhouse that offers Teutonic treats like currywurst, pickled rollmop herrings and weiner schnitzel.

15. Lamb koftas at Chinaski's.

This candle-lit bourbon bar has a fab "cigar garden" and an impressive menu that includes these delicious lamb koftas as well as smoked cheese and beer toast.

16. A haddock omelette at The Drake Bar.

This dog friendly gastro bar in Kelvingrove have a wide-ranging and impressive brunch menu, but their creamy haddock omelette is particularly popular.

17. Finnan haddie fishcakes with a poached egg at The Butterfly And The Pig.

Whimsical tearoom themed bar The Butterfly And The Pig have a damn good menu, but these finnan haddie fishcakes made with fluffy mashed potato are to die for.

This 600 year old tavern on Byres Road is a great place to grab lunch and a drink for £6. Their baked macaroni cheese is another good veggie option.

This fairly upmarket bar is part of a chain, but don't let that put you off. You can't really say no to this winning combination of cheesy, bacony, oniony chicken.
