The One Reason You Should Stand Behind Kaepernick

There's way more to the National Anthem than we think.

Posted on

At the beginning of any sports game the National Anthem is sang and in grade school the pledge of allegiance is said to start the day. Were we ever told the real reason why we needed to stand for any of these? Take off our hats? What we were told is, it is to pay respect for those who served our country. However, the words in each of these patriotic pledges stands for LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. We are the land of the free, home of the brave.

Colin Kaepernick understands and realizes he has people who adore him and idolize him for being the great player he is, and he also realizes that “Yes, I have a voice,” so he’s choosing to use it. In the right way, peacefully protesting and standing up for what is actually real. Not just right. (in my opinion)

Police Brutality is real and it has affected our nation as a whole. With football being an American sport, and patriotism is a huge part of ANY and EVERY sport. What better way to make a difference than to not stand for the National Anthem when you know the WORLD will be watching.

Well played Kaepernick. Well Played.

How can you stand for Justice for all when a lot of minorites are becoming a minority because of police brutality?

All I’m saying is he isn’t in the wrong for standing for what he believes in, that’s a freedom of speech and the right to protest.

And I will end with this.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,

That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion

A home and a Country should leave us no more?

Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

- hidden verse of the (Star Spangled Banner)
