If you put them in a saucer of water on a sunny window sill, they'll grow again. Giving you micro leaves for your garnishes.

3. Barbecue your starter

Simply take the top off a box of camembert, poke rosemary sprigs and/or peeled cloves of garlic into the cheese. Drizzle with olive oil and place on the barbecue or in the oven until bubbling.

10. Fast cheese and onion bread is far tastier than its garlic cousin

Mix mayonnaise with cheese and chopped up spring onions. Spread on slices of sourdough bread and grill until crispy. It's that easy!

11. Make this quick and easy bean salsa to eat with tortilla chips

Mix half a can of any of the following beans: kidney, black eye, lima, borlotti, navy, butter or cannellini beans with half a can of sweetcorn. Add some chopped red onions, chopped cherry tomatoes, fresh parsley, fresh coriander and fresh chilli (optional). Combine with mayonnaise, 2 tbsp. of lime juice and 1/2 tsp. cumin. Salt and pepper to taste.

12. For a lighter alternative try cauliflower 'rice'

Grate or food-process one large cauliflower. Fry the resulting 'rice' particles in a little oil for five minutes until soft. Use in place of rice in salads or with curry.

14. Or this extra moist chocolate mayonnaise cake

Add 200g of mayonnaise to a boxed chocolate cake mix (or use in place of eggs if you're making it from scratch). The end result is a lighter, moister chocolate cake that won't leave you in a carb-coma.

15. Oven cooked hard boiled eggs

If you need to cook a lot of eggs for a picnic or an egg salad pop them in a muffin tin, one egg per muffin hole, and cook for 30 minutes at 160°C. Place in a bowl of ice water to cool, then peel.

16. You don't need fancy ingredients for this chickpea hummus
