Please Stop Sending J.K. Rowling Tweets About Her Own Death

Can't we just let the woman live?

Posted on

I get it: J.K. Rowling is one of the most magical human beings to walk the face of the Earth. We all love her. Like a lot.

We're also all going to be very sad when (eventually, in what will hopefully be the very, very distant future) she leaves us. But like, 1) Why are you thinking about that?? And 2) Don't tweet her to let her know, OK??

Seriously. Don't do it.

Yesterday, Rowling discovered a (incredibly morbid) meme about what fans will do when she dies. While she appreciates the sentiment, she's not really here for you planning her death. Which, you know, makes sense.

This is very sweet, but I won't be offended if you untag me when making plans for my death.

This response = pure gold.

Of course, the death tweets didn't stop there. When one fan told Rowling that "this tweet is gonna blow up" when she does dies, she had another quippy response ready to go.

Yes, let's talk more about when I die. It's cheering me right up.

Have we mentioned that she's the Queen of Twitter?

Then, because sometimes people can't let things go, a Scottish journalist informed Rowling they already have her obit on file — you know, just in case. And of course, she continued doing what she does best: slaying Twitter.

@lokiscottishrap @davieclegg You're alright, David, I know what happened. I was there.

So just like, let the woman live her life, OK?
