As someone who shares her last name and spelling of Christie, and who loved murder mysteries I was always a fan of hers. Not everyone is going to like her style and that’s fine, but she is one of my favorite authors. She’s great with subtext IMO.

1984 is IMO a perennial masterpiece that stands the test of time. I first read it in probably ‘92, and again during COVID. It holds up to me. It’s dystopian but in some ways that’s how the world always has been and still is.
