Sure-fire Ways to Get More Than One Serve on FED18
1.Pretend you’re on toranut.
This is the oldest trick in the book, and it takes some serious skill. Pull it off correctly, and you could be eating toranut first and seconds, as well as another round of first and seconds with the rest of the campsite. Important things to remember – make sure that when you go up with the kids who are on toranut to get food, you don’t make a big scene. Drawing too much attention to yourself could make everyone realise that you’re not on toranut.
2.Get served by different people
Have you noticed that there is usually more than one serving station? Be first in line to get your food, and then you can quickly finish you meal before making it to the other station to get seconds…while everyone else is still having their first serve! This one may require you to eat your first serve pretty fast, but it will definitely be worth it when they call out for seconds, and you get to eat your third serve!
3.“My friend is sick, can I get an extra plate for her?”
Ok, this one can be a little hard to pull off, but once you master it, you’ll be eating for two at every meal. Make sure you go up to one of the Madrichim that doesn’t know you so well. Tell them that you’re friend is sick and didn’t want to stand up for too long, so you’re just grabbing an extra plate for them as well. Make sure you don’t say this to any of the Madrichim who lead your shichvah – they will inevitably start to worry and ask questions, and you could get caught out.
So there you have it, a few ways to make sure you can get the most out of meals on FED18. Comment below if you have any other ideas, it’s always a good idea to share with friends!
