The Brass Owl (My Favorite Local NYC Boutique) Is Now Completely Online — Time To Shop

This shop (located in Astoria, NY) is likely to become your new go-to for pick-me-up presents.

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

For me, one of the more difficult parts of social distancing has been missing the local businesses I typically frequent in my home of Astoria, Queens.

The one I ache for the most? The Brass Owl. It's a locally owned boutique — and the only place I buy gifts and cards for the people in my life (and myself).

They had to shut down, naturally, because of the coronavirus but have been doing an amazing job continuing to support the community with all kinds of goodies.

Currently they're letting shoppers place orders for care packages of varying price levels (six levels, to be exact) in which you can let them know who this person in your life is, if you want a theme, things they typically enjoy, and leave a gift message.

TBH, I might just order myself one for my birthday next month. They also have tons of great items like pop culture-inspired stickers, mugs, and magnets, clothing, jewelry, Baggu bags, and more! Can you tell I really miss shopping there IRL?

Not only is The Brass Owl my favorite Astoria shop, but it's probs one of my favorite places to shop in general! I can always count on them when I need a last-minute outfit, an upgrade to my seasonal wardrobe, or a new candle.

They are partially to blame for my candle- and shoe-hoarding situation, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The employees typically model the newest apparel so you can *really* tell what it looks like — which I love (and appreciate).

The store owner (Nicole, who is *so* lovely) also does a great job supporting other local businesses by hosting pop-up shops in The Brass Owl.

These pop-up shops showcase products from other talented local artisans. You typically find products from places like Astrid Paper and Home, Metrix Jewelry, and Single Girl Cookies floating throughout the shop. Most recently, due to the coronavirus outbreak, they partnered with another local shop, Inside Astoria, to sell their items online as well.

Get the "Someone in Astoria Loves You" mug for $19.50.

So, if you're in need of a pick-me-up (or a lil' present for the first responder in your life), check out The Brass Owl's website for quirky, heartwarming items you'll be sure to love.

If you think I haven't been eyeing the Tiger King mug for a week now, you'd be very wrong.

Get the "A Little Bit Alexis" mug, the "David Connect" mug, or the "Joe Exotic" mug for $18 each.
