Pokemon X And Y Games To Be Released October

A blend of both old and new will be featured in the series' newest titles, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y for the Nintendo 3DS. Here is the trailer:

New trainers! New starter Pokemon! New animation and 3D graphics!

Well, not everything seems new. The game seems to stay true to Pokemon's classic turn-based RPG format, but with a twist platformers and adventurers will love. And there will be a blend of both novel and familiar Pokemon to find, battle, and catch. Not to mention the apparent goals of the game: catch 'em all and beat trainers, gym leaders, Elite Four, etc.

I'm excited to learn more about the games' online/co-op functions. Will the plot be a continuation of the Black/White story line? And will our adventure take place in Sinnoh or will there be new ground to cover?

The grass starter, Chespin. He looks like a mashup of a mole, a meerkat, or a chipmunk. Maybe a rabbit? Some kind of rodent that burrows in the earth. Yeah. His hat is adorable!

The fire starter, Fennekin. Obviously inspired by nature's own fennec fox. Reminds me a bit of Vulpix. My personal favorite!

The water starter, Froakie. Yup, looks like a frog to me. And what do frogs love? Water! Just ask Froakie's distant cousins, Politoed and Seismitoad!

Not much is known about the legendary Pokemon. They sure do look rad, though!

What does everyone think? While some people love the familiarity of the Pokemon franchise, others (like myself) are ready for some change. Will Pokemon X/Y deliver? Which game will you get, X or Y? Which of the three Pokemon will you start off with?

And more importantly... "ARE YOU A BOY? OR ARE YOU A GIRL?"
