24 Times Millennial Clothing Truly Went Too Far

    "Fridays we be like...squad goals."

    1. If you've ever shopped for women's clothes you've probably been confused about the seemingly random words thrown onto T-shirts.

    2. Sometimes you think you've found a cute flannel shirt and when you turn it around it says "NEVER SAY MONDAY".

    3. And when you probably just wanted a nice, simple sweater, out of nowhere you're hit with this.

Ah yes, Monday is under the list "no-words" and tacos are listen under "yes-words".

    4. You used to stress about finding jeans that properly fit, but now you just want jeans without meaningless text.

    5. If you're after a plain white T-shirt, you're also out of luck.

    6. Seriously, plain white tees are rare creatures hidden among a world of whatever this is.

    7. This literally means nothing except that a perfectly nice black tee is unwearable.

    8. I mean, if "rebel youth" is the personal brand you're after then you're going to have an easy time shopping on the high street.

    9. If you're a young person who uses greetings like "hi" and "bye" you can bask in the relatability of this clothing.

    10. And this is the perfect shirt for you if just maybe, for some reason, you specifically want people to know you aren't a blogger.

Because blogging is something young people like to talk about, right???

    11. There's probably a massive Millennial Simulator at some design headquarters that comes up with this stuff.

    12. The machine knows millennial likes and dislikes, and generates these designs accordingly.

    13. There's no other way to explain this.

    14. And really, how else would this "ride with unicorns, swim with mermaids" concept make it past the idea board?

    15. Apparently young people really love mermaids, so once you throw a hashtag in there, you're good to go.

    16. And it's basic science that if you add "AF" to anything, young people will flock to it like sheep.

Somewhere a shirt that simply says "shirt AF" is patiently waiting to be discovered.

    17. This shirt was a natural next step for butt-obsessed, Starbucks-loving youths.

    18. And why would you buy a simple textured tee when you can get one that showcases your nonchalant attitude with the words "ok then"?

    19. The best way to get in the mind of your market audience is to pick out any words you don't understand from Twitter.

    20. But it's actually remarkably easy; any key word will sell.

    21. In fact, what better way to come up with concepts than to scroll down Instagram and just pick out the first tag you see.

    22. And if you're feeling really fancy you can throw a whole bunch of ~trendy~ phrases together.

    23. Who actually buys these clothes remains a mystery.

    24. But as long as young people continue to exist, they'll keep trying.

    And try they did.
