This Must Be The Place pays great attention to detail when it comes to cocktails, but the food menu definitely isn't an afterthought; think fine cheeses, sriracha almonds, and tomato braised mussels.

8. Frankie's

The full name of this Hunter Street bar is Frankie's Pizza By The Slice and, you guessed it, that's their thing. The topping selections are extensive with 20 options split according to red or white base.

9. Work in Progress

The kitchen at King Street's Work in Progress bar is run on a pop-up basis, meaning the menu is made over every few months. It's currently all about dumplings and set to stay that way until the end of this year.

10. The Smoking Panda

The Smoking Panda on Park Street has a self-described "retro-Chinese" theme. The menu includes classics snacks like prawn toast and spring rolls, as well as more substantial offerings such as beef rib san choy bau and BBQ chicken steamed buns.

The Soda Factory serves American diner mash-ups that have garnered somewhat of a cult following, which is appropriate considering the entrance is disguised as a hot dog stand. Cheeseburger spring rolls, nachos, fried chicken and waffles, burgers, shakes, and an entire hotdog menu - you name it, they've got it.

18. Hinky Dinks

The menu at Hinky Dinks is chilled and fun, much like the bar itself. There's a "cheeky" cheese plate, potato skins, and sliders or soft tacos with fillings such as "zinger" chicken or avocado, haloumi, tomato, cucumber, and aioli.

19. Eau de Vie

Though the drinks at Eau de Vie are quite fancy, the food menu is a little more simple but no less delicious. Think cheese plates, fresh oysters, and stone-baked pizza with toppings such as salami, arrabiatta sauce, capsicum, and manchego.
