Barbie and Oppenheimer, the most hyped films of the summer, recently came out, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint.
But every once in a while, a super-hyped film comes out and falls completely flat. Take Suicide Squad, which looked awesome from the trailers (truly one of the best trailers of all time, IMO), but was a disjointed mess when people saw it in theaters.
There was obviously a ton of hype for The Force Awakens, as the first new Star Wars film in a long time, but lots of people ended up disappointed by the movie. While I personally liked the film, I know a ton of people were extremely angry at the turn Star Wars had taken.
And then there's Don't Worry Darling, which seemed like a surefire hit considering how good Olivia Wilde's last film was, and the fact that it was the first major movie starring global superstar Harry Styles as the romantic lead. Behind-the-scenes drama only served to increase the hype...and ended up eclipsing what was honestly a pretty blah movie.
What other super-hyped movie totally failed to live up to the public's expectations — or, at the very least, your expectations? Let us know in the comments below and you could be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post!
