26 Hilarious Reactions To Twitter Adding Stories Because Absolutely Nobody Is Impressed

Stop trying to make Fleets happen. They're not going to happen.

If you spend a lot of time on Twitter, you may have noticed Twitter's new feature: “Fleets.” A fleet is basically the same as an Instagram or Snapchat story.

That thing you didn’t Tweet but wanted to but didn’t but got so close but then were like nah. We have a place for that now—Fleets! Rolling out to everyone starting today.

The response is...pretty negative, though Gay Twitter is having fun with the name, which is also the name of an enema brand.

The underpaid queer person on staff at Twitter who got their silent revenge when the bros decided to call it a "fleet"

Here are 26 more of the best reactions to Twitter's newest unwanted feature, for your enjoyment!

Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter when i post the same fye picture to each story

    4. One person even brought up Vine (RIP):

Tik Tok copied Vine, one of Twitter’s biggest failures. Instagram copied Tik Tok, by making Reels. Twitter copied Instagram, by introducing Stories, which Instagram stole from Snapchat.

    5. A lot of people were feeling especially bad for Snapchat:

YouTube gets stories: Instagram gets stories: Twitter gets stories: Snapchat:

    6. Though some wanted to see this story trend continue to other apps, like Canvas:

At this point Canvas and Blackboard should add stories so that professors can see me cry and rant about my grades

    7. And even Excel, with this person coming in with an amazing callback to Kelly Rowland seemingly texting someone through Excel in her "Dilemma" music video:

    (For reference, here's the gif:)

    11. A LOT of people were just frustrated that Twitter STILL hasn't added an edit button:

Did Twitter really give us stories before giving us an edit button..

    12. Some didn't like the personal aspect:

Y’all posting yall bfs on y’all fleet ? I thought we was single on Twitter

    13. Although others thought it was far from personal:

u know my fleet not my story

    14. This guy had a pretty accurate representation of people's current Fleets:

Every twitter story/fleet thing right now

    15. This person had a better suggestion for a name than "Fleets":

Why didn’t twitter call this story feature chirps?

    24. Or simply promoting tweets:

could you imagine if ppl used fleets like instagram stories

    25. OR making your life seem cool:

i’m cool with twitter stories as long as they’re used how they’re supposed to be: making ur life seem miserable. making ur life seem perfect is for instagram. there will be none of that here

    26. And finally, this person was just tired of the posting-stories-while-driving trend:

Damn now I gotta watch y’all drive on every damn app?!!

Please do not fleet and drive!!

That's all for today, folks! In the meantime: @Twitter, GIVE US AN EDIT BUTTON!!!
