26 Minor TV Characters Who Deserved A Bigger Role

Why did Danny leave Teen Wolf???

Recently we asked members of the BuzzFeed Community to tell us which overlooked TV characters they wish had gotten more screen time. Here were some of the most popular!

Note: Submissions have been edited for length and/or clarity.

    1. Mike from Glee:

"He only got one plotline that had to do with him being from an Asian family. I would’ve liked to see him do more that didn’t just have to do with him being Asian."

"Where is his spinoff show?? There was never a more perfect character, and the little taste of his arc we did get was the best part of the entire show. Mike deserves more!"

    2. Georgina Sparks from Gossip Girl:

    The CW

"She deserved so much more screen time. Michelle Trachtenberg played her incredibly well, and she was such a different character compared with our main ones."

    3. Suki from Avatar: The Last Airbender:

"I wish we knew more about Suki. She's the only member of Team Avatar we don't have a backstory for, and she was so cool that I wanted to know more about her. Plus, she was the only one we didn't hear anything about in Legend of Korra."

    4. Kendra from Buffy the Vampire Slayer:

    The WB

"Kendra Young was such an interesting character (and played by the talented Bianca Lawson, so there's that), and the first time we were introduced to another Slayer other than Buffy. Their differences made their dynamic so interesting, and it would have been great to see her in more episodes, since there was potential for more scenes exploring the dynamic between Buffy and Kendra, and to really get to know Kendra and be more invested in her character before her death."

    5. Lane Kim from Gilmore Girls:

    The WB

"She was a character with so much potential, but all of her interesting storyline was obliterated by the end of the show. Instead of giving her the successful career she deserved, they pushed her to the sidelines and made her end up following in her mother’s footsteps."

"She had so much potential! She stood up to her mom, played in a rock band, and became such a great character. But then they let her marry Zack and get pregnant with twins. And in the revival, she had like 30 seconds of screen time, but they managed to find time for a whole 20-minute musical!"

    6. Danny from Teen Wolf:

"He was a character I was excited for every time he showed up because I knew he'd give a great moment. Like his iconic scene with Stiles in the locker room or his arc with Ethan. I wish they hadn't dropped him like a hot potato just as he revealed he knew about werewolves. He could have been a great ally in the fight."

    7. Max from Stranger Things:

"Throughout seasons 2 and 3, I progressively began to love her character more, and she ended up becoming one of my favorites on the show. I really like her personality and see potential in exploring her character more. It would be interesting to learn about her past in California, her relationship with Billy, and her overall family dynamic. Also, she and Lucas definitely deserve some more screen time together. I feel like their relationship tends to get overlooked or ignored."

    8. Mulan from Once Upon a Time:

    "She deserved so much more."

    9. Creed from The Office:

"He was so funny and mysterious, but they never got too deep into his character. I wish they had given him more lines and more screen time because he is absolutely hilarious!"

    Megan Leroy

    10. Toni Topaz from Riverdale:

    The CW

"Give her a backstory and stop treating her like the token Black character that’s only there to support the white characters’ stories!! And don’t come at me with 'She’s just a minor character' — she literally is advertised as a main character, and she’s still nothing more than Cheryl’s girlfriend."

    11. Raphael from Shadowhunters:

"He just deserved to be on the show and have his story fleshed out more. He was such an amazing character. I just wish there was more of him!"

"He’s one of the few asexual TV characters, and it’s not at all his defining characteristic. He’s so fascinating!"

    12. Delilah from You:

"She was hilarious, a sexual assault survivor, a parental figure to her sister, an apartment super, a badass writer, and so many other things. She was sidelined to further Love's mission, but I always hoped for more Delilah-Joe-Ellie interactions."

    13. Josie from Riverdale:

    The CW

"She made Archie seem like a better person in Season 3, and then she left!"

    14. Jean-Ralphio from Parks and Recreation:

Jean-Ralphio saying he made his money the old-fashioned way, getting run over by a Lexus

"He was so funny and chaotic!"

    15. Kevin Tran from Supernatural:

    The CW

"He was so smart and a prophet, and I could see being an amazing researcher of cases for the boys. His whole ‘Kevin Solo’ FBI phone call was so great. I was devastated when he was killed off, even if he has returned a couple of times as a ghost and an alternate version of himself."

    16. Anna from The O.C.:

"I wish that The O.C. had done more with Anna Stern. She was clearly not a love match with Seth, but she was smart, she was friendly with everyone, and she brought some much needed grounding to the show. They got rid of her too soon, then only brought her back briefly. Anna deserves more time!"

    17. Thomas Barrow from Downton Abbey:

"He clearly has the best character development of all the characters on the show, going from a lying/stealing/cheating footman in Season 1 to a sympathetic butler in Season 6...Thomas has so much potential, and they just ignored it and it all felt so unresolved."

    18. Maya from Pretty Little Liars:

"She was great with Emily and could have had so many more interesting storylines (and mysterious stuff with her website and Nate)."

    19. Jodie from Daria:

"I would have liked to see more of Jodie on Daria, but I hear there's going to be a spinoff show costarring both characters, which I'm very excited about!"

    20. Adrian Pimento from Brooklyn Nine-Nine:

"He is the perfect amount of adorable, wild, and weird. He is genuinely nice and learns from his mistakes. He also genuinely loves Jake, Rosa, and Boyle. I need more Pimento!"

    21. Winn Schott Jr. from Supergirl:

    The CW

"He was always there for his friends, he's adorably geeky, and he's played by Jeremy Jordan. I was so bummed when he left in the Season 3 finale, but I was happy to see his brief return this year."

    22. Charlie Bradbury from Supernatural:

    The CW

"She was only in a few episodes before they killed her off, but she was so sweet and kind and intelligent, and brought a light to the show, which can be dark and sad at times."

"She was funny, nerdy, and awesome. She was the little sister Sam and Dean needed, and she deserved a way bigger role. Plus, she was played by Felicia Day, who is an awesome actor and a nerd queen herself. We definitely needed more Charlie."

    23. Angie Jordan from 30 Rock:

"She was hilarious and basically the only one who could rein in Tracy with his shenanigans. She stole every scene she was in, and there could have been so many more. The episodes that revolved around her reality show, Queen of Jordan, were the best, especially because D'Fwan was there too, another amazing minor character!"

    24. Marshmallow from Bob’s Burgers:

"She is fabulous. We need to know more about her!"

    25. Felix Gaeta from Battlestar Galactica:

"He was one of the funniest side characters on the show. His story arc was honestly one of the best. He got a bit of screen time for himself in one of the webisode series, but never much in the actual show. I'm still mad about how dirty they did him in Season 4!"

    26. And finally, Mike from Friends:

"I know the show was about the main six friends, and I’m okay with that, but considering that he ended up marrying one of them, I felt like at least an episode or two could’ve been devoted to learning a little more about his background."
