Perhaps you remember my grandma Lenny, the Trader Joe's enthusiast who is full of life advice and words of wisdom.
Unfortunately these days, my grandma isn't shopping at Trader Joe's because due to COVID-19, she's staying home as much as possible.
My grandma is, nonetheless, staying happy and healthy during the pandemic. She's mastered the technology of Zooming, she's started gardening, she walks around her neighborhood every day, she celebrated her 93rd birthday, and she met her first great-grandchild. As always, she has some advice for us all.
Wear❗️Your❗️Darn❗️Mask❗️❗️❗️
For your own safety and the safety of everyone else around you, please put on your mask in public. It isn't that big of a deal, and you can clearly look stylish while wearing it.
My grandmother wears a mask whenever she isn't alone because she worries she could be an asymptomatic carrier. Given that she's 93, this seems highly unlikely! But any of us could be spreading the virus without even realizing it.
So if you won't listen to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, maybe you'll listen to my wonderful grandma.
Do yourself and everyone else a favor by wearing a mask whenever you're in public.

Stay safe and stay well, and remember that masks are not a substitute for social distancing and washing your hands. Read the CDC's full recommendations and protocols for face coverings here.
