I'll be honest: I've never been one to fully embrace self-care. Sure, I get a mani/pedi from time to time and treat myself to a massage or facial on very rare occasions, but recently, after a few weeks of social distancing and finding myself stuck at home, I've started to take more time to treat myself.
Recently, my favorite form of self-care is a long, relaxing bubble bath after a long day of working from home. And these soothing oatmeal, milk, and vanilla Barr-Co bath salts ($32 at Anthropologie) are my new favorite product.
I add1/4 cup of the salts (or just a healthy shake of the jar) to my bath as it's filling. I wait for the tub to fill up and for the water to get slightly cloudy from the salts.
Then, I light a candle for good measure and pour myself a glass of wine, and it's bath time as usual.
Not only do the Barr-Co bath salts smell like a delicious oatmeal cookie, but the product also makes my skin super soft. I can feel my body absorbing the salts as I soak, and when I get out of the tub my skin feels silky smooth and hydrated.
At first, the price tag made me a bit hesitant to buy these. Paying $32 for bath salts felt steep, but they've lasted me quite a while. And after seeing how these salts transform my small apartment bathtub into an at-home spa that feels luxurious and relaxing, I'm sold.
On that note, it's bath time for me.
