If You Work In The Medical Field And Have Dealt With An Entitled Patient, We Want To Hear The Story

Some patients require extra patience.

It's truly no secret or surprise that our world is crawling with entitled people. From Karens to Kens, some people just want to put up a fight everywhere they go.

Unfortunately, that entitled attitude knows no bounds. Even while seeking the help of medical professionals, some people still choose to act nasty and make things harder than they need to be.

Perhaps you went to assist a patient, and when you got to their room to greet them, they immediately pulled out pages and pages they had printed out from the internet, detailing what they believed their problem to be, and how they expected it to be treated. You were very understanding and tried to talk through everything with them, but they refused to hear you, the DOCTOR, out on anything and kept waiving their papers in your face.

Maybe you went to give a child a flu shot while their mom watched and waited with them. You gave the kid the shot without a problem, but then they started to cry because they said it hurt. Rather than comfort their kid, the mom started screaming at you for "hurting her baby," though she was the one who brought her kid in for the shot in the first place.

Or perhaps you were working the front desk of an urgent care clinic, and there was a line of people waiting to check in. A man burst into the office, cut the entire line, and started demanding he get in first because he had plans in an hour and couldn't wait. You politely told him he'd have to wait in line and then wait to see a doctor like everyone else, but he got angry and knocked the bottle of hand sanitizer and cup of pens off your desk before storming off.

If you work in healthcare, tell us about the most entitled person/patient you've ever encountered. You can share your story in the comments, or submit anonymously using this form. The wildest stories will be featured in a BuzzFeed Community post.
