We Interviewed Labour Leadership Contender Lisa Nandy On WhatsApp

    The Wigan MP shared her thoughts on the treatment of women in the Labour leadership contest, her brutal assessment of the government's performance to date, and revealed she's up to date on her Lisa Nandy memes.

    With voting now underway in the Labour leadership contest, the three contenders are doing their best to impress members who are yet to make their minds up.

    Electors still have a month to return their ballots before Jeremy Corbyn's successor is announced on April 4.

    Last week BuzzFeed News spoke to Rebecca Long-Bailey about her vision for Labour, and now we've also chatted with Lisa Nandy, who had a frank assessment of both the contest so far and the performance of Boris Johnson's government so far.

    Nandy was pretty clear on where Labour has gone wrong, what it needs to do to fix it, and what the challenges facing the country are. She told BuzzFeed News that if Labour is serious about winning back power, it will need to move its headquarters out of the capital.

    And as for her assessment of the current government's performance...well, she wasn't very impressed.
