If you're even remotely interested in food and all the exciting things going on around it — chances are you've heard of Impossible Foods.
Well, I've got some great news for all of my Aussie vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians, pescatarians and anyone else who doesn't eat beef for whatever reason — Impossible has finally descended Down Under!
I was lucky enough to have the chance to try the burger last night at Butter — and when I tell you I was floored, I'm not exaggerating even a tiny bit.
I tried the Impossible Classic Burger, which was made with their brioche and holy mackerel was it good. I also had a bite of their Impossible Cheeseburger — which they'd prepared with vegan ingredients and it was absolutely delicious.
My expectations were stacked high because of all the great things I'd heard about the "beef", but nothing could've prepared me for the uncanny taste and texture of the patty. As you can see, I am appropriately gobsmacked.
When the burg first got to my table, it smelt like a regular burger and looked like one too. I even pulled it apart to take a closer look — and tell me that doesn't look like straight up beef.
And look, I know the idea of a burger patty that tastes this meaty might be off-putting to some non-meat eaters, but as a lover of beef, I'm thrilled that I can grab this alternative and enjoy the experience without any harm coming to a sweet, adorable animal.
So do yourself a favour and head on over to Butter to try either one of these culinary delights. They're also going to be introducing a brand new Impossible burger recipe every fortnight.
