12 Movie That Were So Good It'd Be Criminal If They Didn't Make A Sequel

Sequels can be hit or miss, but there is no way these sequels would flop.

1. The Goonies (1985)

A new adventure with aged versions of these iconic characters would be like a warm, comforting hug.

2. Beetlejuice (1988)

This classic could definitely stand on its own, but seeing Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice one more time would be amazing.

3. A Bug's Life (1998)

An ant's life is fragile, so there are many possibilities a second flick (pun not intended) could take.

4. Shaun of the Dead (2004)

I'm sorry, but how are you just going to end this film the way it did? I refuse to accept it, and Zombie Ed deserves better.

5. Napoleon Dynamite (2004)

Post-high school Napoleon has always been on my mind. What is he even up to these days if not campaigning for Pedro?

6. Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005)

I'm sorry, but a sequel to Zathura would have performed better than the Jumanji remake. Plus, Kristen Stewart and Josh Hutcherson in the same film? Come on!

7. Ratatouille (2007)

I have been begging for a sequel to this film since I saw it in theaters in 2007. As one of my comfort movies, it would be hard to compete with the original. But if anyone can cook, anyone can make a high-performing sequel right?!

8. Step Brothers (2008)

There's so much room for a sequel! There are endless possibilities for these hilarious characters, and a second dose of these step-brothers is all a comedy buff could hope for.

9. The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)

While there is a new series coming soon to Disney+, nothing will compare to what a film sequel to the original could do. Freddie Highmore as an adult with perhaps his own kid adventuring with magical creatures? The original was such a cute film and adaptation of the books, but there could be another story there.

10. Inception (2010)

Okay, this film ended on an annoying cliffhanger. So many unanswered questions allows for so many directions a sequel could take, and it would be interesting to see how it would play out.

11. Dredd (2012)

The cinematic effects alone were enough to warrant a second installment to this sci-fi action film. It's a shame it didn't do well in the box-office, which is why it deserves a sequel to redeem itself.

12. Zootopia (2016)

Maybe one of the most requested sequels ever, and it's absolutely valid. There are so many possibilities for Judy Hopps and new recruit Nick Wilde. Seeing how the pair works together to fight crime in Zootopia is highly anticipated!
