Savannah, Georgia is known for its Southern charm and amazing Historic District. When in this coastal city, you must visit Forsyth Park to see the famous fountain and the beautiful trees covered in Spanish moss. Also, take a walk along River Street to browse through the many shoppes and restaurants. Lastly, stop by Leopold's Ice Cream as it is named some of the best in the world.
While in Charleston, South Carolina visit the many shoppes on the famous King Street and at the Historic City Market . Enjoy a romantic carriage ride with your loved one through the scenic Hampton Park. Snap a photo with the stunning Angel's Oak, the famous 1,500 year old tree. Lastly, end your night with a romantic candle light dinner at the Charleston Grill.
Asheville is settled in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains, home of the abundant amount of hiking trails and breath taking waterfalls. While in Asheville (or anywhere near by) it is an absolute must that you visit the gorgeous grounds of the Biltmore Estate. For those of you who like to have a drink, plan to check out some of the local breweries or even go for a ride on the Brews Cruise. To end a perfect day, make a reservation to one of the many cozy restaurants downtown.
St. Simons, Georgia is listed number one on CNN's Travel Post, Ten of America's Most Romantic Towns. Located on the Golden Isles of Georgia, it is well-known for its historic light house that is more than 100 years old. Visit the romantic grounds of Avenue of the Oaks consisting of two rows of sprawling oak trees that create a dramatic tunnel, which was once the entrance to Retreat Plantation. For the culinary experience, make sure you try some Brunswick Stew, offered by nearly every restaurant in the city.
Gatlinburg, Tennessee is one of the most popular wedding destinations in the US. The Great Smokey Mountains obviously sets the scene for love. Visit one of the historical landmarks, Cades Cove, where you can go horse back riding, bike riding or hiking through the amazing National Park. Make sure to bring your camera because you may see some wildlife! Enjoy downtown by having an amazing steak at The Peddler Steakhouse for dinner and then stopping in one of the many homemade candy shops for dessert. Also, there are several distilleries where you can try countless flavors of moonshine.
If you have not visited Outer Banks, North Carolina, you must go. Take a ferry to Shackelford Banks to see the wild horses roaming the beach. One of the many light houses in Outer Banks, Ocracoke Light House and British Cemetery has a cute little beach town with souvenir shops, places to eat and a coffee shop. To make things even more romantic, rent a golf cart to ride to the light house. See how we used to entertain royalty by visiting the elaborate ten acre gardens at Elizabeth Gardens. For eateries, check out the famous Duck Donuts and for a romantic dinner enjoy the fresh Atlantic seafood.
Everyone knows Nashville as the home of country music, but it is also known for its romantic charm. Visit the Nashville Centennial Park where there are occasional weddings, free shows and sometimes even movies in the park. Grab a seat at Live on the Green for a free concert from some of the local emerging artists. Take a short drive to Arlington Vineyards (free admission) where you can catch one of the top seven places to watch sunsets in Tennessee. End your romantic day at Nashville's finest restaurant named Husk.
Rosemary Beach, one of the few prestigious beaches of South Walton, is known by CNN as one of America’s most romantic small towns. It has become a site for many proposals as well as weddings. If you are unable to stay at The Pearl, make sure you take a visit to see its luxe and romantic charm. To see all of the amazing Florida scenery, take a short drive along the famous highway, 30-A. Pack a picnic and visit the gorgeous 163-acre Eden Gardens State Park. Make sure you take a tour of the stunning 1897 mansion. Lastly, take your loved one to the Spanish inspired restaurant La Crema to experience amazing tapas and a chocolate overload.
Middleburg, Virginia is known for its beautiful countrysides and magnificent estates. Visit the Ashby's Gap at the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains for amazing scenic views. Pictured above is the famous Salamander Resort and Spa which is ideal for winery tours and chef led culinary classes. If you are unable to stay at the resort, you must go for a visit. As we all know New Orleans for its parties including Bourbon Street and Mardi Gras, it can be one of the most romantic places in the south. Enjoy a guided carriage ride through The French Quarter to learn about the fascinating history. Satisfy your sweet tooth by visiting Cafe Du Monde for their famous beignets, a fried piece of dough and then covered with a mountain of powdered sugar. Take your loved one to a live jazz concert and then enjoy a romantic candle lit dinner at one of the many well-known french restaurants.
