View this photo on Instagram instagram.com Beyond her flawless fashion, Wiwid is starting a conversation, which she perfectly sums up in a simple tag: #thegirlbeneaththeheadscarf. View this photo on Instagram instagram.com "I started my blog because I wanted to share my style, but also because women with headscarves are often perceived as having no style, or as being submissive," she told BuzzFeed Life. "I wanted to challenge those perceptions by having a blog that showed women with headscarfs can be very stylish, interesting, and outgoing - just like any other woman." Wiwid began blogging while shooting campaigns for her own self-titled clothing label, when she was still living in Indonesia. She now has over 19,000 Instagram followers. Since then, it's evolved and become a way of life." As a Muslim, one of Wiwid's main goals is to reach a wider audience through her blog, spreading awareness about creativity and freedom within her community. Another of my goals is to eventually work with mainstream designers and bloggers, to emphasise that I’m not a 'Muslim fashion blogger', just a fashion blogger who happens to wear a headscarf," she told BuzzFeed Life. Fierce fashion + fierce attitude = flawless. View this photo on Instagram instagram.com You keep on slaying, Wiwid.
