This Sikh Fashion Blogger's Instagram Is Straight Fire

Karan Kaur is a 22-year-old fashion blogger from Sydney, Australia. Her Instagram account, stylewithkaur is where she shows off her fire style.

Kaur started her blog over two years ago, after noting the lack of Sikh turbaned women in the fashion world.

"For males there were prominent turbaned figures in the film and fashion industry but for women, there were none. I wanted to change that. My religion is all about equality, so it was sad to see the reality," she told BuzzFeed. "I wanted to push the norms and create a runway for turbaned women."

Since starting her Instagram account, Kaur has gained a following of almost 30,000.

And it's easy to understand why. Girl's got style.

"To me clothing is form of expression. I like to stand out and look different to everyone else," says Kaur. "I use fashion to represent who I am."

In the future, Kaur plans to start her own YouTube channel to educate the world about fashion and Sikh turbaned women.

Her advice for other Sikh women who might want to follow in her footsteps couldn't be more encouraging: "Don’t be afraid to break barriers and create awareness. Don't care about what your family, friends, or community say about you. If this is something you want to do and you’re passionate about it, don't let anyone get in the way of that. You do you".
