15 Sydney Runs That Will Take Your Breath Away

They'll put a real ~spring~ in your step.

1. The Bay Run, Iron Cove

This seven kilometre track will take you around the outskirts of Iron Cove Bay. Start at King George Park, Leichhardt Park or Callan Park and enjoy the water views.

2. Balls Head and Berry Island Track, North Sydney

Catch the train to Wollstonecraft, and start this scenic track in the Balls Head Reserve.

3. Bondi to Coogee, Eastern Suburbs

Begin this 6km walk at Bondi Beach, continue to Bronte Beach, then on to Coogee, following the water's edge. On the way back, stop for a dip at pretty Tamarama, before you're back in crowded Bondi.

4. Lake Parramatta, Parramatta

The full lake circuit is 4.2km, but if you're keen for a shorter run there are other tracks on offer, or you can make your own way at your own pace.

5. Riverside Run, Lane Cove National Park

This off-road run is another that you can take into your own hands, but if you take on the length of the river's main section and back, it works out to be around 9km.

6. Centennial Parklands, Eastern Suburbs

The circumference of the parklands is about 4km, but make use of the tracks that run throughout and take your run a little cross-country.

7. Sydney Olympic Park, Olympic Park

There are several routes to take around the Olympic park, which makes it a fantastic spot for regular runners who don't like to get bored.

8. Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney CBD

Start in the city and make your way through the park, running to Mrs Macquarie's Chair. For a longer run, continue all the way to the Opera House, enjoying the bridge views, or head back into the park to get amongst nature.

9. Manly Scenic Walkway, Manly

This 10km walkway is the perfect place to pick up some speed, while enjoying that ocean breeze.

10. Harbour Run, Rushcutters Bay and Rose Bay

This 5.5km track will take you from Rushcutters Bay to Lyne Park in Rose Bay. Go early, because watching the sun rise over all those fancy boats is pretty beautiful.

11. Cremorne Point Circuit, Cremorne

This short run is 2.7km, but allow extra time to cool off in the beautiful Maccallum Pool.

12. Chipping Norton Lakes, Liverpool

The Lake Moore Walk, which begins at Chauvel Park and follows the lake's foreshore is a 3.2km loop, so run around once or twice - depending on how hard you want to go.

13. Cooks River Run, Marrickville

Start your run in Marrickville, head to the river and follow its ~flow~ for as long as you can.

14. Blackwattle Bay Run, Glebe

This 6km run has amazing views all the way around - just make sure you wear plenty of sunscreen.

15. City2Surf Track, Sydney CBD and Bondi Beach

If you're up for a real challenge, follow the 14km track from the city to Bondi Beach - just be sure to keep off the roads this time.
