These Politics-Themed Greeting Cards Are Actually Really Cute

Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd write.

While Anika was preparing to release her political collection, Peter Dutton made his infamous claim that most refugees "won’t be numerate or literate" when they arrive in Australia. Now, $1 from the sale of every Peter card is donated to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

"I've been collecting payments and I'll be making the donation after the election," Anika told BuzzFeed Life. "Peter Dutton's face is just so potato-ish, it's hard to resist."

As much as she loves her Peter card, Anika said her favourite design is the one she made with Christopher Pyne.

There's also no denying that this card, depicting Penny Wong and Cory Bernardi boxing is pretty bloody special.

And DJ Albo and deep-sea diving Barnaby? Well, they're obviously keepers, too.

Anika explained that she's always found politics to be "unintentionally hilarious", particularly when an election has gone on as long as this one. Tbh most of Australia would definitely agree with that at this point.

"My usual illustrations and collages aren't often based in the real world. I wanted to make something that was timely and relevant, if only to amuse myself," said Anika.

And these cards are very amusing indeed. More amusing than most politics at the moment, anyway.
