Hillary “Chillary” Clinton is the gift that keeps on giving. On March 2nd our very own democratic Presidential candidate will be appearing at a Radio City Music Hall concert event titled “I’m with Her”. And though I greatly wish that it was a solo performance Adele style with her belting out her songs about her policies, she will actually be accompanied by none other than Katy Perry, Elton John, and Andra Day, like who doesn’t want to see Super Bowl Halftime performer Katy Perry... The description claims that it will just be “remarks” from Hillary, Bill, and Chelsea Clinton but the real dream is that Chillary will make an appearance and walk on the stage in a beach ball bra or at least break out the left shark suit. If you're not a millennial or you're a millennial lacking internet access, Hillary “Chillary" Clinton is Hillary’s ‘youthful’ persona in which Clinton attempts to connect with the millennial generation that she has recently discovered actually care about politics and are most likely going to be the deciding vote. At first there was youthful support for Clinton. She made ‘Yassss Hillary’ shirts and posed with stars from Broad City. But Clinton can be compared to the girl running for class president that has run unopposed for the past four years(meaning she was really the only expected democratic candidate and probably had a good chance of winning the nomination). But Clinton’s daydreaming in homeroom was disrupted with a quick slap in the face from new kid Bernie Sanders. This old man came in as an underdog and because he had all the physical characteristics of politicians that the more liberal youths of America hated, Clinton didn't think she would have to youth it up just yet. It wasn't till Sanders started getting his following that she started to really bring in “Chillary”. Who knew that a little old man could make young kids want to make their own hip t-shirts and say bae non-ironically. Sanders wasn't lifting a finger, he was just rambling on about free education and no more debt for students. Clinton knew she had to fight back, and thus “Chillary” was born. It started with some harmless additions to her speeches, a sprinkling of words like bae and Fleek. When this didn’t work she tried tweeting using the buzz words near and dear to millennials, Financial Aid and even worked in the use of emojis! Despite these very well thought out efforts, it seemed like the millennials were still thinking she was just an old grandma trying to stay hip though, Sanders is older and has more grandkids than she does! Clinton was going to have to step up the Chillary. The first internet break out for Chillary was the iconic vine “I’m just Chillin’ in Cedar Rapids” with a her very own Chillary Clinton koozie and a terrible selfie angle achieved only by those over 35. This sparked activity from the millennials across all social media platforms and Clinton thought she had them. She continued to show her hipness with whipping/nae naeing on Ellen, SNL appearances and late night talk shows doing outrageous activities. But SOMEHOW Bernie’s policies were still outdoing Chillary, I mean, come on! His instagram isn’t even that great! Who really knows if this concert is even an attempt to get millennial votes, tickets are starting at $125 not exactly pocket change to $20,000 debt ridden millennials, so Clinton could have had this planned from the beginning, way before Chillary. One thing is for sure, it is nice to finally be noticed by politicians and not simply remarked as lazy young people that have little interest in the government. Well, it might be only from the Democratic party, but still they're making strides and the Republican party gave us Trump, the meme that keeps on giving. Its also nice to think we’ll get to see Clinton reppin’ the white vans on election night because that’s how long it will take her to find out about Damn Daniel.
