Steal the show this Christmas with Honey and Garlic Glazed Ham, and a little help from Google Home Mini.
INGREDIENTS:
4 - 5kg bone-in ham
2 medium onions
1 large orange
¼ cup cloves
1 cup of honey
3 ½ tablespoons dijon mustard
2 large minced garlic cloves
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350
Quarter the onions and place (1) clove in each quarter, half the orange and add to a large stockpot filled with water (enough to cover the ham). Cover and bring to a boil, then reduce and simmer for 20 minutes per 500 grams.
Mix honey, dijon and garlic. Set Aside
Remove ham from water, discard onion and oranges. Carefully peel back skin and score the fat into a cross (diamond pattern). Place cloves in center of each diamond.
Brush glaze onto the ham (do not glaze the cut side) and place in a large roasting pan. Cook for an additional 40-60 minutes reglazing every 15 minutes until fat is crackly and brown and ham has reached an internal temp of 60 C
Allow meat to rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
