Wow you actually have a full calendar for a change. That lunch is going to have to get rescheduled. Again.

1. The employed

This friend was fortunate enough to get hired right after college in their chosen field of study. Their entire life now consists of taking selfies at work, complaining about their workload, and TGIF being celebrated like it’s the Lord’s second coming. Yes, they moan about how they no longer have free time and they have back- to- back meetings but you know that they are secretly thrilled that they are finally being treated like a professional. Love them or hate them you can’t help but feel pride that their one of the lucky few who is climbing up the ladder.

2. The graduate

They are playing in the big leagues of education whether it’s a Master’s or they’re going all the way to achieve that Ph.D status so they can be called doctor (sorry but unless you’re studying medicine we’re not calling you doctor). Their stress has been bumped up to an 11 now that they have several thesis papers to write or if they are vying to be their professors only summer intern position. Weekends to them are just pre-pre Monday and pre-Monday. They really do want to hang out but their entire future career hangs on getting an A on this midterm. Be gentle with them and try not to comment on the caffeine IV drip they have attached to their arm.

3. The engaged/married

They’ve been with their significant other for years so it was bound to happen. You’re really happy for them if not slightly annoyed that now when they do anything it’s to flash their new sparkly ring just so they can say, “It’s so weird, I’m not used to it yet,” and all they talk about is what should be their floral arrangement, should they go with chicken or veal, when should their wedding be, after all each season has their pros and cons. But they are just the beginning because as soon as one couple decides to tie the knot the others can’t be shown up and its back-to-back engagements and weddings. You’re going to have to diet after all that celebratory cake and champagne.

4. The traveler

Everyone talks about taking some time off to recuperate from college but this person actually does it. They’re taking a year or two off before they take the work plunge. Whether they’re taking a road trip to discover obscure monuments (ball of yarn anyone?) or country hopping around Europe or Asia you know this person has no foreseen return date. You never know where they’re going to next or what exotic cuisine they’ll be trying that night. You envy their beach pictures but not the jet lag. Send us a postcard!

5. The missionary

They are a really good person, like really. Whether it’s being a teacher in Thailand or helping build homes in South America this person just wants to give back tenfold to those in need. They lived a privilege life and just want to improve the quality of life for others. Their wardrobe mainly consists of sleeveless shirts, cargo shorts, and bandanas now but they look super good in them especially when they take pictures with the locals. If they were merely a good acquaintance before they are definitely now a really good friend and your number one pick for when the zombie apocalypse breaks out and the world goes to hell. You’re going to need someone who knows how to make a hut with limited resources and also how to make the perfect zombie kill shot.

6. The unemployed

They are in the majority of unemployed recent graduates. It’s not they haven’t tried to get a job in their field but it’s them and 300 other graduates competing for the same spot. At this point they would settle for a part-time job at Sears. And so would their parents, they’re going to have buy a new couch after the huge indent that’s being left behind. But they’re not wasting their time: they've caught up all the hot shows that ended on Netflix, helping out their family, and they’re slowly building their internet fame by posting on their blog and writing pretty insightful articles.

Even though you've gone your separate ways make sure to keep in touch and stay informed about major milestones. That way you’ll have lots of things to talk about when the gang is reunited.
