Listen, you probably had grand plans for this Thanksgiving which have just.... not come to fruition. That's okay! A non-traditional Thanksgiving is still Thanksgiving. Make it your own (grilled cheese and chips, anyone?) and it'll be one for the books.

Season 1: "The One Where Underdog Gets Away"

Arguably the least Thanksgiving-y of the "Friends" Thanksgiving episodes, maybe this just hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year. This too shall pass! There's nothing some cookies, sweatpants, and good 'old fashioned holiday sulking can't fix.

Season 2: "The One With the List"

You're the person who thinks running a 5k on a holiday is fun, aren't you? Luckily, the great outdoors offer plenty of room for some good 'old fashioned social distancing, so this is YOUR year to drag everyone outside for some fresh holiday air!

Season 3: "The One With the Football"

Whether you're celebrating with your ex or at an urgent care, you're probably going to need some wine to get through this holiday. Cooking fires are three times more likely and you seem to be a little accident prone, so, please have a fire extinguisher nearby! If all else fails, you can happily serve a store bought pie and a case of beer and nobody will be mad.

Season 4: "The One with Chandler in a Box"

Thanksgiving is a nostalgic, happy holiday and everyone is going to be thankful, OKAY?! Okay, maybe not so much, but you can try. You're looking forward to seeing your parents, catching up with friends, and reliving the good ol' days. This is definitely the year to pull out the family photo album and reminisce.

Season 5: "The One with the Thanksgiving Flashbacks"

You know that feeling where you're excited to host, but then everyone is in your house and you'd actually like them to leave? That's you —  and we feel you.  It's all fun and games until your brother tells your parents about something you did 15 years ago and now you're somehow in trouble and feeling like you're 13 again... or until meat ends up in the dessert.  When you disappear into the pantry to drink some wine alone, nobody will blame you.

Season 6: "The One Where Ross Gets High"

You might live far from home and your boss, out of genuine kindness, invited you to spend Thanksgiving with them. It seemed like a good idea at the time... but now you're just awkwardly petting their dog in the corner and feeling wildly overdressed and uncomfortable. Take that leftovers container and BOOK it home where sweatpants, Netflix, and solitude await! And note to self — never do this again...

Season 7: "The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs"

It's not the holidays if you're not forced into an uncomfortable situation and have to deal with someone you hate, right? Right. Your best strategy is to just keep your mouth full, so you don't say something you'll regret. And save the booze until you're home and can yell into the void. Alone. But if you really can't help yourself, revenge is best served cold or in the form of complex carbohydrates.

Season 8: "The One with the Rumor"

Sometimes spending Thanksgiving with your siblings sounds better on paper than it does in real life — but just take a deep breath and remember how much you love each other (probably)!  Make sure some custom cocktails are on the menu and plenty of everyone's favorite side dishes, and you should be good to go. Might we recommend a "Friends" marathon to keep everyone quiet?

Season 9: "The One with Rachel's Other Sister"

Maybe you'd rather spend your Thanksgiving day off doing stuff other than cooking all day and waiting around for everyone to show up for dinner — that's cool! Take-out is just as good, less stressful, and leaves more time for what you really want to do: R-E-L-A-X. You deserve it. And hey, this year is almost over! That's something to be thankful for, huh?
